Judy’s love of fabric takes her back to early childhood when she would accompany her Nana to fabric stores to buy fabric for clothes. Although she started out sewing clothing, everything from shorts to prom dresses, her attention quickly turned to quilting.
Starting her quilting career long before rotary cutters or modern day tools and rulers, she found that with a husband, small child and a career, her time was limited and large projects were just out of the question. After her daughter became a teenager and she had a little spare time, she discovered quilting again. Meeting Jacqueline at a quilt show and falling in love with her colorful quilts, she was determined to make some of these intricate quilts. This time with all the modern gadgets at her disposal, her love of the craft exploded. It was a hallelujah moment. Perfect points at last! What’s not to love about that. |
Signing up for workshops with Jacqueline allowed her to learn the specific techniques used to design these lovely quilts. Her home is now full of beautiful quilts and almost all of them paper pieced. She considers it therapy. While not a quick project, they are always worth the time and effort.
As a former math teacher, being a quilt instructor was calling her name. Judy truly enjoys watching her students achieve success and make their own beautiful quilts. Very patient and kind, Judy is a very hands on teacher, always willing to lend a hand or repeat that demo until her students grasp the concept.
Judy lives in eastern North Carolina and will be teaching her first BeColourful classes in early 2020 in Raleigh, NC and in Midlothian, Virginia. She is excited to embark on this new adventure and looks forward to meeting you and helping you accomplish your masterpiece.
